The Grad Show

Alissia Holzer

Transcend Enclosure

Holzers contribution to the show at the Blue Oyster Gallery was made up of 16 paintings, all on paper. The paintings all consist of images painted in a simple fashion to appear in a kind of advertising or design context. The simple shapes and colours worked well with the amount of paintings there was. Buildings, vehicles and natural objects such as branches touch on themes of consumerism and environmental destruction. This work appealed to me the most because of these connotations. A very successful work by Holzer and a great show overall.
